Mann & Hummel and Centrale Nantes renew their research chair
The Mann + Hummel Group and Centrale Nantes renew their international teaching and research chair on clean automobile engines focusing on filtration systems: fluid dynamics and reduced energy consumption.
on January 23, 2018
Mann+Hummel develops and creates new products in the powertrain technology sector. Internationally recognized, it is one of the leading suppliers of automotive filtration fluids (air, water, oil, fuel, etc.) as well as thermoplastic air intake systems. In order to maintain its position as market leader, Mann+Hummel wants to undertake research into the reduction of pollutant and CO2 emissions from internal combustion engines and to get closer to the market through its French subsidiary.
Thanks to its basic and applied research activities in the scientific and technical fields, Centrale Nantes has built strong expertise in the behaviour and modelling of internal combustion engines, as well as in engine and vehicle testing.
The partnership between Centrale Nantes and Mann + Hummel started in 2014 and the chair was renewed for a period of 5 years, i.e. until 2023.
It follows on from collaborative work that started over 13 years ago in the form of PhD theses and collaborative projects.
