Digital Twin: Predictive simulation in real time
For several years now, the High Performance Computing Institute has been developing dimension reduction methods for real-time simulation. The objective is to give engineers the means to manage production lines in the best possible way, so that they can make more informed decisions.
As part of the European STREAM-0D project (*), the High Performance Computing Institute has, for the first time, integrated real-time simulation tools into industrial production lines. Working with its partners, the High Performance Computing Institute has developed a digital twin of three production lines for industries in the automotive sector. At the heart of these digital twins, physical simulation models allow continuous monitoring of product quality.
(*) European project H2020 STREAM-0D “Simulation in real-time for manufacturing with zero defects”
10 partners, 6 countries, 3 research centres, 5 SMEs, 2 major companies, Total budget: €4.15M.
