For the third edition of this ranking, this top spot confirms the school's commitment and leadership in terms of sustainable development, with regard to its own impact, its research and training activities, and its relationships with its partners.

Centrale Nantes performed particularly well on the 'company forum' indicator, which shows the ability of engineering schools to mobilise companies during events where they offer students internships, degree apprenticeship programmes and jobs.
11th in the Figaro étudiant ranking
Centrale Nantes moves up in the Figaro étudiant's ranking of French engineering schools post-classes préparatoires. For this ranking, schools are ranked on the basis of fifteen indicators divided into three main categories: Academic excellence, international and graduate employability.

Top 200 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject
Centrale Nantes is ranked among the top French schools and universities for the quality of its research and its reputation in the QS World University Rankings - Subject Rankings 2023 - one of the most respected world rankings. Centrale Nantes is positioned in the world's top 200 for Engineering and Technology and notably in 87th place for Mechanical Engineering.
Ranked in top 300 for Engineering and the top 500 for both Physical Sciences and Computer Science in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject
These results confirm the school's progress on the international stage and the quality of its research and teaching. It's great recognition for our academic teams and the work they do.
Centrale Nantes is ranked in the top 600 worldwide and in 11th place among the French institutions in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking.
Centrale Nantes performed well on five goals in particular:

Top 500 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings
Centrale Nantes performed particularly well in 3 areas:
- international outlook (ranked 152nd worldwide and 3rd in France),
- industry income (ranked 8th in France and 250th worldwide)
- teaching (ranked 285th worldwide).
The Shanghai 2023 "Marine/Ocean Engineering" GRAS ranks Nantes Université, which includes Centrale Nantes, France's leader player in ocean engineering, in 41st place worldwide. This makes it the first and only French institution in this ranking*, which lists the world's 50 best universities per academic subject.
