Awards and Distinctions in 2021

Rémi Parrot, a PhD student in the Control and Real-Time Teams at the Laboratory of Digital Sciences of Nantes and of the Renault-Centrale Nantes chair received the Best Young Researcher Paper Award at the MSR 2021 conference.

The European Commission granted the HR Excellence in Research Award to Centrale Nantes on 18 November 2021

Tony Ribeiro, a post-doctoral student in the LS2N Formal Methods for Bioinformatics research group - in the framework of a Franco-Japanese collaborative project co-financed by the National Institute of Informatics (NII, in Tokyo) and the RFI Atlanstic 2020 -, received the "best paper award" at the 30th International Conference on Inductive Logic Programming (ILP)

Congratulations to Rebecca Fribourg who received the Séphora Berrebi Women in Advanced Mathematics & Computer Science scholarship at a ceremony held on 4 October.

Centrale Nantes confirms its standing in the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings in Engineering and Technology, which was published on 6 October 2021.

Sara Al Haj Sleiman, a PhD student in the Research Institute in Civil and Mechanical Engineering (GeM) at Centrale Nantes, won the Ecole Française du Béton's Corporate Social Responsibility prize, for her research results presented at the 13th Fib PhD symposium held in Paris on 22 July 2021.

Centrale Nantes maintains its place in the top 500 institutions for Physical Sciences in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2022, published today.

Centrale Nantes is positioned in the top 600 in the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings out on 2 September. At the national level, the school is ranked 18th.

Jessy Simon, a PhD student in the Research Institute in Civil and Mechanical Engineering (GeM), received 2nd Prize for the best thesis at the 22nd Journées Nationales des Composites (JNC - National Composites Day), which took place online from 28 to 30 June 2021.

Congratulations to Antonella, Aurélien, Benjamin, Chloé, Etienne and Safae who impressed the SoliTudiant challenge jury during the final on 24 June! They received the "Coup de Coeur de la Transition Ecologique" prize for their P2E project "Feasibility study of an eco-solidarity activity" with a €5,000 prize for the ESAT de la Cholière.

Centrale Nantes is one of the world's best universities aged 50 or younger, according to the criteria of the Times Higher Education Young Universities Rankings.

Arbia Ben Khodja, a Michelin CIFRE PHD student in the LHEEA Laboratory, received the Libersky Prize for the best work by a student at the 15th International SPHERIC Workshop, which was held virtually from 8 to 11 June 2021 from New York. 24 PhD students were in the running. Arbia's paper was on the "Validation of coupled SPH-FE hydroplaning simulations using PIV measurements".

Centrale Nantes has been awarded the highest level (three stars) of the "Bienvenue en France' label by Campus France, the public institution tasked with promoting French higher education abroad and welcoming international students and researchers to France.

Simone BANCORA, PhD student at Centrale Nantes, is one of the finalists at the JEC COMPOSITE CHALLENGE.

The Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects is now out for 2021. Centrale Nantes is ranked between the 301st and 400th place in the world.
