A new scientific project-based specialisation linked to the Paris Olympic Games in 2024 was launched at Centrale Nantes in 2018. With regards to the Master's programmes, a record number of 400 students enrolled in 2018 across 15 specialisations, all now taught in English. The same year saw the launch of a new Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment.
Enrolment procedures were moved online in 2018. Centrale Nantes entered the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings for the first time in 2018.
Customised training for Naval Group and the National Defence University of Malaysia
This project was part of a more global technology transfer contract between Naval Group and Malaysia which includes time dedicated to the training of Master's students in Naval Architecture Technology.

On 4 September, Centrale Nantes and Pôle Emploi (Employment Centre), in partnership with Fafiec, welcomed 12 jobseekers for a training programme in web development, with the participation of three key players in the region's digital sector: Capgemini, ASI and Bodet Software.
"Skills for business" training for PhD jobseekers
Pôle emploi (Employment Centre) and Centrale Nantes joined forces to create "Skills for business", a training course for job-seeking PhD graduates.
A new Erasmus Mundus Master at Centrale Nantes: Master in Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment

Centrale Nantes is now a partner in a fourth Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's Degree, entitled 'Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment', accredited at the end of 2017. Centrale Nantes is one of the few schools to offer Erasmus Mundus international masters.
New specialisation: Scientific Challenge 2024
With the upcoming 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, Centrale Nantes, working alongside CREPS des Pays de la Loire and the French Rowing Federation, decided to introduce a new engineering programme specialisation on high fidelity modelling of the complete boat-oar-rower system.
