Centrale Nantes - amongst the world's best young universities

Centrale Nantes is one of the world's best universities aged 50 or younger, according to the criteria of the Times Higher Education Young Universities Rankings.

Centrale Nantes ranked 72nd out of 414 institutions globally and 10th in France in the 2020 Times Higher Education Young Universities Rankings

Fine recognition of our institution's performance, following on from our top 300 global ranking in the Times Higher Education University Impact rankings in April.

The THE Young Universities ranking assesses research-intensive institutions across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. It is based on the same performance indicators as the flagship ranking THE World University Rankings, but the weightings are adjusted to give less weight to reputation.

Performance indicators are grouped into five areas:
 
  • teaching (learning environment)
  • research (volume, income and reputation)
  • citations (research influence)
  • international outlook (staff, students and research)
  • industry income (knowledge transfer)
Centrale Nantes performed particularly well on the latter two indicators: international outlook and industry income.
