CFM 2022 (French Mechanics Congress) in Nantes
CFM (French Mechanics Congress) brings together the French and French-speaking community in the field of mechanics under the aegis of the Association Française de Mécanique (AFM). The 2022 edition will be hosted in Nantes, from 29 August to 2 September. It is organised by Centrale Nantes, the CNRS, alongside Nantes University, the University of La Rochelle and the École Navale.

The CFM congress is held every two years in a different city with the aim of bringing together all the research and innovation stakeholders in both academia and industry, in order to foster dialogue and scientific, technical and educational advances focused on the problems and challenges of tomorrow.
This edition's theme "
La mécanique prend l'air au large
" (Mechanical engineering takes in fresh air) will cover all the fields of Mechanics through 36 plenary sessions and 3 mini-symposia.

Call for papers
The call for papers opened on 1 December 2021.
An abstract of 600 words in French or English must be prepared and submitted online via the registration form before 14 February 2022.
A selection of articles (in English) will be published in Mechanics & Industry, the journal of the Association Française de Mécanique.

Awards and prizes
Various awards will be presented during the congress, including the Paul Germain Prize (Association Française de Mécanique) and the Jean Mandel Prize for young researchers under 40 years of age, as well as an award for the best poster. The detailed conditions to compete for these awards will be available on the congress website.

AFM PhD student member: €200
Senior non member: €445
PhD student non member: €215
Single day: €200
The registration fee for the week includes:
access to sessions, mini-symposia and associated events,
a digital copy of the proceedings,
coffee breaks,
welcome drinks,
Congress documentation,
the opportunity to submit a paper for publication in Mechanics & Industry (see instructions for authors),
a pass for public transport in Nantes (bus & tramway) for the duration of the congress.
The gala dinner is on top of your registration (€65). This dinner is limited to 400 seats.
For non-members of AFM, the registration fee includes a one-year membership to the association.
