Centrale Nantes on Design Thinking at the EIT Manufacturing Summer School in Lugano, Switzerland

The 3-week Innovation & Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Manufacturing (IESMA) - EIT Manufacturing Summer School - is currently underway at University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI). Two faculty members from Centrale Nantes presented a module on Design Thinking in week one.

Catherine da Cunha and Catherine Michel of the Product Design and Industrial Systems Department at Centrale Nantes were in Lugano, Switzerland last week as part of the 'Innovation & Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Manufacturing' (IESMA) - EIT Manufacturing Summer School jointly hosted by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland and the Politecnico di Milano in Italy. They presented a module on Design Thinking (see compilation of images below).

The EIT - IESMA summer school offers a unique opportunity for developing innovation and entrepreneurship skills for the manufacturing world in an international setting. Participants are immersed in a stimulating learning by doing experience during which innovation experts and companies bring hand-on expertise by launching challenges, support team project works and share their experience, while international lecturers provide state-of-the-art knowledge.



As a partner in the EIT Manufacturing consortium, Centrale Nantes is a participant in the EIT Manufacturing Master School

The EIT Master's programme is designed to attract and empower top talents preparing them to become leading innovators and entrepreneurs in manufacturing. Programme graduates are awarded two Master degrees - one from each university. An EIT Label certificate is also conferred to participants who have followed one of the programmes with international mobility, taken part in the Innovation & Entrepreneurship courses - in particular the summer school - and successfully completed an internship in industry.
