TA-VIE (Tools for Enhancing and Assessing the Value of International Experience for Engineers) aims to:
  • improve and assess the overall competence of engineering students and graduates
  • promote and enhance the quality of integrated mobility programmes
  • boost employability through cross-border and national cooperation.
The TA-VIE consortium is composed of 13 partners and associate partners, including European higher education institutions and companies. It is coordinated by the Universidad Politecnica di Madrid and led at Centrale Nantes by Frédéric Dorel and the Department of International Relations.

The TA-VIE project seeks to identify the set of competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes) needed by engineers to work and communicate effectively within organisations and companies with rich cultural and social diversity. It is developing a toolkit to help higher education institutions, companies and organisations, as well as engineers, to assess the impact of international training and experience on overall competence.

TA-VIE aims to develop innovative and effective education and training strategies for students in higher education, building on current theory and best practice, and further exploiting existing opportunities for integrated mobility and cooperation. Moving beyond higher education, it aims to promote employability by valuing the skills of graduates with international experience.
