Marinelle EL KHOURY receives a Best Paper award from fib - International Federation for Structural Concrete
Congratulations to Marinelle El Khoury, who recently completed her PhD at Centrale Nantes, on her best paper award in the category ''Sustainability and Materials / Sustainable Development and Life Cycle Assessment'' at the 14th fib PhD Symposium.

Marinelle El Khoury completed her PhD at the Research Institute in Civil and Mechanical Engineering (GeM), Centrale Nantes under the supervision of the professors Frédéric Grondin and Emmanuel Rozière and at the Lebanese University under the supervision of Prof. Fadi Hage Chehade and Dr Rachid Cortas. Her work focused on the study of the chemo-mechanical behaviour of cementitious materials in marine areas. She defended her thesis in May 2022.
On 7th September 2022, she received the best paper award in the category ‘’Durability and Materials / Sustainability and Life Cycle Assessment’’, awarded by the International Federation for Structural Concrete during 14th fib PhD symposium which took place in Rome. Her paper was untitled ‘’New protocol for the durability assessment of offshore cement-based structures submitted to creep and seawater attack‘’.
