Audrey Somera, PhD student in the GeM Institute, receives the award for the best Mécamat “Emilie du Châtelet” poster
Congratulations to Audrey Somera, 3rd year PhD student at the Research Institute in Civil and Mechanical Engineering (GeM), for her Mécamat 2022 "Emilie du Châtelet" poster award.
on February 1, 2022
The Mécamat association has awarded a prize to a young researcher for the best poster presented during its annual conference since 2019.
A 3rd year PhD student at the GeM under the supervision of Julien Réthoré (CNRS Senior Research at the GeM), Martin Poncelet (LPMS) and Nicolas Auffray (MSME), Audrey Somera received this prize for her work on quasi-periodic architectured materials.
Audrey's PhD is on architectured materials - materials resulting from the development of new manufacturing methods with which researchers and engineers are trying to find better compromises between mechanical properties and mass by controlling the distribution of the material. Audrey Somera's work focuses on porous structures consisting of a set of beams: random networks, such as foams, periodic lattices such as honeycombs and intermediate categories such as pseudo-periodic and quasi-periodic structures.
