Awards and distinctions 2019

Prof. Alain Bernard, of Centrale Nantes, and head of research at the Laboratory of Digital Science of Nantes (LS2N), has been appointed a Fellow of the National Academy of Technologies of France.

Maroua EN-NAJJARI, PhD student at the AAU Laboratory - Centrale Nantes, is through to the Brittany-Pays de la Loire final of the "My thesis in 180 seconds" competition, which will take place on Thursday 21st March in Le Mans.

ASME (the American Society of Mechanical Engineers) recognises the peer-review contribution of Stéphane Caro of the RoMaS research group and LS2N Laboratory.

Publisher Elsevier awarded the authors of the article "Discrete reconfiguration planning for Cable-Driven Parallel Robots", published in the 2016 issue of the scientific journal "Mechanism and Machine Theory", with the Crossley Best Paper Award.

Maxime Robira received the 'René Houpert' young researchers award at the 'Rencontres Annuelles Universitaires de Génie Civil', (Association Universitaire du Génie Civil), which was held in Sophia Antipolis from 18 to 21 June 2019.

Christophe Binetruy, Professor at École Centrale de Nantes and member of the GeM Laboratory (PMM team), was appointed Affiliate Faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Delaware, in September 2019 for a period of 3 years.

Professor Nicolas Moës, of Centrale Nantes and senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France, received the 2019 ONERA Award for Mechanical Sciences for Aeronautics and Aerospace.
