Filippo Masi, post-doctoral researcher in the GeM Institute, is one of the two winners of the CSMA 2020 thesis prize. He completed his PhD thesis, entitled ''Fast-dynamic response and failure of masonry structures of non-standard geometry subjected to blast loads'' at the GeM Institute / Centrale Nantes under the supervision of Ioannis Stefanou (Centrale Nantes) and Paolo Vannucci (Université Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines).
The CSMA (Computational Structural Mechanics Association) is a French association, which currently has more than 300 members, both academic and industrial, and constitutes a Scientific and Technical Group integrated into the AFM (Association Française de Mécanique). The flagship event of the CSMA is the National Colloquium on Structural Calculus, which is held in Giens every two years (odd years). The association also organises several scientific days per year.
Filippo Masi has also been nominated for the ECCOMAS (European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences) thesis prize!
