A Centrale Nantes PhD student receives the "René Houpert" young researchers award
Maxime Robira received the 'René Houpert' young researchers award at the 'Rencontres Annuelles Universitaires de Génie Civil', (Association Universitaire du Génie Civil), which was held in Sophia Antipolis from 18 to 21 June 2019.
on June 26, 2019
The "René Houpert" young researchers award is an opportunity for doctoral students and young doctors to present their thesis work to the entire civil engineering university community and thus to communicate some of the activities of their host laboratory. The award is open to final year PhD students and young doctors who have defended their thesis within the current academic year in the field of civil engineering.
Maxime Robira was awarded this prize in recognition of his work on the mechanical behavior of irradiated concrete. This young researcher was supervised by Professor Ahmed Loukili (GeM) and A. Abdelouas (Subatech) and co-supervised by B. Hilloullin (GeM), as part of a collaboration GeM - Subatech - Tractebel Engie, represented by Mr. Gildas Potin, Technical Director.
The results of the thesis were able to highlight changes in the hydrate microstructure after gamma irradiation, which was responsible for a decrease in the mechanical properties of cementitious materials on a macroscopic scale.
